As you may have noticed, XIV Style has been shut down. I personally think that maintaining a website is a labor of love, and for a project as ambitious and comprehensive as XIV Style, the upkeep is difficult. After discussing it with the owner of XIV Style, I offered to host the 22,000 image files, so that the resource wouldn’t be lost to the community, and all his efforts won’t just vanish from the internet.

You might be asking yourself, “Why are there only 7 posts on this page?” The answer is because at first, I naively thought I could reproduce XIV Style page-for-page from scratch. Who knows why I thought that. I was wrong. I was experimenting with how to reproduce the functionality of XIV Style within a reasonable timeframe and within the scope of my abilities. I didn’t delete the posts because these are the newest sets that were added to XIV Style just before it was shut down. I also plan to add the other new combat sets from 5.1 and 5.2 sometime soon, but they’re already uploaded to the gallery, and you can view them there. Going back and doing all the pages is just too impossible of an undertaking, so I won’t be doing that.

Unfortunately, I don’t know anything about coding, and I’m not confident I can create new screenshots in the same format as the original ones. For now, my intention is just to host the files in a photo gallery format (access it here), which is why I call it an archive. I’d love to be able to find a way around that one day and expand the resource, but that’s a project for another time. If anyone does have the ability to do so, or would be willing to help me set it up, I’d gladly accept. :3
